  • Heartwood is pale reddish-brown whereas the sapwood is off-white or tan in color, however, can be pink with some yellow hues.
  • Grain is straight with a medium to coarse texture.
  • Low, natural luster.
  • Sapwood is perishable and open to insect attack, not rot resistant.
  • Easy to work with without really damaging or effecting cutters.
  • Stains and finishes well.
