Spruce

• The heartwood is reddish brown whereas the sapwood is a lighter yellowish white.
• Grain is straight with a fine to medium texture.
• Low decay resistance.
• Works well with most tools, however, resin from the wood can gum up tools and clog up sandpaper. Glues and finishes well.
• Has a neutral resinous evergreen scent.
