California Redwood

• Heartwood ranges from light pinkish brown to a darker reddish brown whereas the sapwood has a distinct pale white or yellow color.
• Grain is generally straight, however, figured pieces can have a wavy or irregular grain pattern. The texture is coarse with a low natural luster.
• Very durable when it comes to decay resistance.
• Easy to work with hand and machine tools. Planer tear out can occur with curly or irregular grain patterns.
• Glues and finishes well.
• Has a distinct moist, evergreen scent.
