Cypress

• Heartwood is a light yellowish brown with the sapwood being nearly white.
• Grain is straight with a medium to coarse texture. Unfinished surfaces may result in a greasy, oily feel.
• The older the cypress the more durable it is to decay resistance.
• In order to avoid tear out, it is recommended that very sharp cutters and light passes are used while working with this material.
• Can have a dulling effect on cutters.
• Glues, nails, finishes, and paints very well.
• While being worked, the material has a sour scent.
